BONDI AT IT’S BEST: today three of us took a walk along the beach, feet in water, no clouds in sight. we stayed until dark - it’s a full moon tonight. we’re in the month of april and it’s rather nice how summer refuses to say goodbye.

BONDI AT IT’S BEST: today three of us took a walk along the beach, feet in water, no clouds in sight. we stayed until dark - it’s a full moon tonight. we’re in the month of april and it’s rather nice how summer refuses to say goodbye.

i recently started a blog (life with lula) consisting of the many everyday photos i took on my phone, words and thoughts and questions and answers. my phone is always with me, so it acts like my camera when it’s not around and a memo for ideas when i know i won’t remember it later on. i thought it was necessary to separate the professional work from the photos taken on the sidelines but i’ve been getting requests to update this blog more than i do, and i also got an iphoneography job (more on that later when i feel like i’ve established a proper concrete ground for it) for maybelline new york, which kind of made me realise that any kind of pictures is pictures. so i’m combining the two blogs together - expect much more posts.

meantime, here’s a few favourites ranging from quite some time ago to yesterday.

(the great wall. it was snowing that day so the climb down began a mini skiing adventure. all i remember was not being able to feel my hands.)

(strangers looking at snow)

(roadtrip in october)

(december bonfire)

(driving up a nearby suburb in sydney on a sunny day)

(amy camping under the school library air-conditioning instead of attending english class on a hot day)

(newly renovated starbucks on george st, sydney)

(kids at the aquarium)

(school yard in spring)

the travelling was full of crazy jetlag, laughing so hard at “bridesmaids” the movie, jess trying to get some sleep but ended up only moving positions every two seconds, a stop off at LAX, coffee, counting down to landing and then finally JFK twenty-four hours later. i could never get someone who spends their time between sydney and new york. it’s probably the most tired I have ever been, and by the time we got to Sheraton, it was basically heaven (their pillows are marshmallows).

today was labor day and we had the most amazing bagels at the bakery next door to our hotel. then we did some pretty intense shopping, and that resulted in me exhaustedly collapsing on the stairs in Topshop. I also became the new owner of the 24-70mm 2.8L. it is such a beautiful lens and I am already in love with it.

it is lovely to be back again this year in new york especially during the summer, hot days. currently, we are in our room and “empire state of mind” is playing.

today’s photos in chronological order:

(at breakfast - jess with half her bagel as a moustache)

(taken with the iphone)

(taken with the iphone)

(subway stairs)

(hot dog stand man, who is looking very excited at me)

(times square in black and white)

(girl tying her shoelace)

(hotel room - jeannine and jess)

just a collection of everyday photos of strangers and friends and life that makes me happy.

(fun between takes for a clothing brand shoot)

(jaime reading on her bed)

(after wrapping up the shoot with ashley, and the team is extremely happy about the photos, sitting above bondi beach)

(sissy’s dancing class - taken with iphone)

(through sharon’s house blinds, sometime last year)

(at piccadilly cafe in paddington on a saturday afternoon for coffee - taken with iphone)
